Strive for the NAME and glory of the M and I and T

MALAYAN COLLEGES INC. (OPERATING UNDER THE NAME OF MAPUA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY)
I found this here:
SEC. Search for registered companies and use “Malayan” as the keyword.

It is almost a month, since I've heard from my brother that our alma mater will be change to Malayan University (what a name!). It is already registered the very first day I heard the news from him, (not so sure though) but as expected all Mapua students and alumni from here and abroad won’t allow this atrocious name change. Mapua Institute of Technology is synonymous to bearing quality engineering and technical students, and now they are changing it to as Malayan University. Mapua is not known for as activists or militants or whatsoever, Mapuans would take anything and as much as possible would keep still to any reform that would be implemented by the so called “administration”. Last time was the quarterm system that did no good for students except that according to “them” (quote and quote) students will have more focus to their studies and will graduate earlier than before. Really huh. This time, it’s a different case, Mapuan will fight and we’re ready to take the risks, so long as we get what we are fighting for.

First, my email drowned with messages re the No to Malayan issue, while the heat is on, No to Malayan petition online roved and roughly 11000 students have registered (http://www.petitiononline.com/notomu). There and then
United Mapuan was established to denote what we stand for.

Black Valentines at Mapua Intramuros .. Viva Mapua!!!;Posted by Hello

Alumni here and abroad showed their sympathy with the students, Prayer Vigil and Black valentines came with thousands of Mapua students and alumni wearing black shirts across streets of Intramuros and Makati. Boycot of classes was requested to students to show the administration that we are united as one. They sent some students letter of expulsion due to this movement, but still any form of threats won’t paralyze UNITED MAPUANS and we are indeed ready to continue the fight. The fight has gone these far, opinions and other judgment diverged and emotions are still at its peak. Whatever happens, together we will be as one Mapua in name in heart and in mind. As the alma mater song goes (though haven’t know the whole lyrics yet, hehe) “We will strive for the fame and glory of the M and I and T”, can also be “We will strive for the NAME and the glory, of the M and I and T.”
