déjà vu?

Yesterday, we went in Metrobank (Head office in Buendia), had a demo with the VP and the rest of the executives there. We are about to introduce a new and enhanced version of Exim with them, that is after a long period of preparation for the upgraded one. We are already done upgrading their system here in our test environment, and it seems ok (hope so). Whew, it reminds me of the unnerving defense we had back in college. But it is I think more frightening in school than meeting with the big bosses in the market, hahaha. Or maybe it depends, yeah it depends, based from their stories the bank is actually a good affiliate of CS, not only in business side. Then, it should be from all the clients we have around the globe, Metrobank is the only client we have here in the country, hehe…No wonder, they even crack jokes during the demo, oh but that made me still.

Predicaments are always welcome in demo or when presenting products of such. And it happened, guess it’ll always be part of the list. I and Tata (along with our PSG Manager and PSG Consultant)were already starting to introduce the new version of Exim, talked about the new set of programs and such, and as we are about to open the program, tada! Connection failed (I remember this back in school, it’s the same old thing)…Our troubled eyes met, same thoughts are on our head. Everything was fine beforehand...thought so. We have checked the DSN tools, tested the meta and transaction database, and same failed connection showed. We have accessed the db server remotely for it was located, umm I dunno, nakailang elevator kasi kami, hehe, checked the db services if it was started, yet everything was set! We restarted the db server and that solved the problem, however another problem came, connection to Meta db was terminated. Whoa, this is my first time to do such demo in the real place, then my Buena mano were those errors..hehe… Nevertheless, the problems were resolved and finished the demo right away. Questions were raised and were answered rationally and I think we’ll going to pass this subject, no I mean this project (hehe). We came there I think at around 2 and finished the whole thing 5 at the most. Next episode will be to test its multi-entity feature from all branches/processing centers across the country. Just hope I could attend to our tests here, for I have another project left to be done, as my boss said key is time management, ummm can somebody tell me where can I buy self-management? (hehe, nyak)

Just remembered what my dad told me when I told him I was nervous for the demo, sabi nya: “Bakit naman, e tao rin naman sila, pareho lang kayo ng tina*** (hahahaha), atska mas alm mo yung product kaysa sa kanila”.. Umm, which is actually true, then add some spices like preparation, guts, attitude and just enjoy, sure shot yun! It’s all in the mind anyways! ;-) (naku, sana nga...hehe)

The B-rit Way (Ingeniously Coping Mechanism)

Finally, our PM came (fresh from London, lol). She arrived last Sunday and reported Monday in the office. Got our first meeting last Monday with her and the rest of the team and discussed just a few of what the project will going to be. Starting today, I’ll be staying at our conference room to work on our GDB project (waaah, freezing). Umm, actually I’ll be working on not the project alone but I’ll be bringing with me the usual stuffs I do in our department. We don’t have the working environment yet, umm, actually we still haven’t got any (haha), we’ve just started the plan and probably this Friday or later, we’ll eventually have one. Just hope my head still remember everything that were brought in the training a month ago now. *Sigh* I should have gone with Tata in our demo with Metrobank today, it’ll be fun! We have tested the system here for a month, hope everything will run in the site.. Hehe… I’ll definitely miss my cube and Tin (*sigh*, haha). I was actually thinking of bringing my cabinet with me here, or the whole cube perhaps?? Hehe…

I and my PM were seated across each other, she used to stare at me every time she speaks (or maybe I was just being paranoid, hehe)… I have to listen and watch her lips carefully, or else I’ll be lost….lost in words (hehe)…Because of her accent, words are stressed in the wrong syllable (I mean, wrong for us, lol). Many times the words she spoke are not clear or, it´s nearly the pronunciation of someone who has not been at school before (haha), whoa, but the accent is cool (haha). I’ll be used to it in a matter of time… I should be starting watching Haii Potta movies again to cope up with the accent (haha).. just ope evrthaengs goaeng to baey owaeyt….

Just dropping by.....

Your Birthdate: July 17
