Pain Blitz

It is one day left and as the clock ticks same as my heart beats, up and I’ll be a thousand miles away. I’ve been packing my things and mixed emotions were battling inside me. Excitement and joy fills half of me and the other half were confined with sadness that’s troubling me. Hahaha, and as if I’ll be staying for that long outside well in fact I’ll be just away for a week (hope it’s just a week). Maybe the fact that I am not used to be away from my family, friends and loved ones discerns what I feel on this business trip.

Aside from these sentimental tads and bits, there came other convivial happenings just before I go. Last Thursday, I had a sore throat and I mean it, it’s bad. I am not really used to taking medicines, and if not for the trip I really won’t. So, I took 1 Erythromycin Antibiotic (500 mg), thinking this would solve my problem. Worst comes to worst! I got another illness. My stomach aches just a few minutes after I took the medicine as if something’s inside that all I wanted to is scream to wrap up the pain! I managed to last when I was in the office, but not when I got home. My mom accompanied me to the nearest clinic here, and as I suspected the medicine I took that morning caused the pain. Gastro infection as I remembered is what the doctor said. We bought the medicines for the pain and that somehow made me well. The next morning, Friday, got my clothes and hair done for office work, went downstairs to eat, I slipped down 5 steps from our staircase, all because of my flip flops! Gee and that is the talk of the “town”, from home, in the office and when I got home again. And lastly, now I’m suffering from flu (not bird flu!!!), and I’m not quite sure how am I going to present with this sick voice in front of Thais for a week. I’m full of luck isn’t it??!!! I’m “overjoyed” with these luck, so can I just pass it on to somebody else?? Who knows they are looking for luck too, hhehehehe…this is the chance!! grab it!!

Amidst those “luck”, definitely Fri is simply the best, and that’s for keeps! :'">

THAI FLIGHT FRIGHT

THAILAND, formerly known as SIAM. What else? Bangkok, spicy foods, kingdom, temples…. Thailand has 3 seasons : Hot (March to May), Rainy (June to October) and Cool (November to February). It must be cold up there. … Time : GMT-Plus 7 hours.
They say there are two things that you must respect during your stay in Thailand: the royal family, and religion. They said religious objects and places, such as Buddha images and the Buddhist temples are sacred to the Thais. On the news, Tsunamis and the latest of all, Bird Flu!! Oh my!

What is this Thai thing all about? Just getting ready… It was confirmed that I’ll be in Thailand (CS office) by the end of the month and will spend 7 days at the site. The training will last for just 5 days but, our Admin asked me if I wanted to stay a day for, what else but shopping and pasyal…. Hehehe… Who will say no for an answer????

Take note, I’ll be traveling alone…. Huhuhu…. I am already forcing my friend to come with me *crossed fingers* …. Hehe... I thought I’ll be with my other colleagues there but regrettably, they were in Jakarta, Indonesia. All along, I thought I’ll have a companion, but those were just thoughts….. I’ll be spending time there with Thai colleagues. Haha, the very first thing people here told me is to learn numbers, I said why numbers? Sabi “para marunong ka tumawad”, hehe then I though of Bangkok, “ay oo nga ano” hehehe….. just hoping employees there in that office are as accommodating as Filipinos here, umm, not hoping much though…… *sigh* it would be my first time ALONE and I hate it, on second thought, being alone is not bad after all, maybe this time calls ME DAY and besides ALONE != LONELY, guess I have to be used to it……. Go against the flow, don’t be conformed to the world but be transformed - this writings struck my attention from a man’s shirt while on my way to the office, it’s written in the bible too…… maybe that sums it all….. umm, any Thai tips???

Nov, 1, All Saint’s Day, kung san uso ang North at South, panigurado dami na namang tao nyan. Pero bakit sa tuwing All SAINTS Day at hindi All SOUL’s Day which is Nov 2 karamihan ngpupunta ang mga tao, kasama na kami dun…. Siguro kasi start ng nov kaya yun na ang nkasanayan. Sa bawat taon nating paggunita sa ganitong okasyon, namaster na nmin siguro ang pagpunta punta dun (North, South, La Loma, Pasay) ano ba yung mga yan? Sementeryo po…. Yan ang apat na mansion na lagi naming pinupuntahan, …. dami noh? Mayaman po kasi kmi sa lupa….heheheeh…(joke lng)… kaya nga lagi ring hapo pagtapos, pano b naman, puro lakaran yan e…Taliwas sa mga nagdaang taon, (naman! T-A-L-I-W-A-S) nung araw na yun lang ako nakaranas ng sobrang ulan….kalungkot lang… At pansin ko lng, sa tuwing nglelead na ng prayer si Father Oning (pinsan ko na ngsesemenaryo pa lang, na ngayon bini-BI ng iba kong pinsan, hahaha) e dun n ngstastart bumuhos ang ulan… dalawa s pinuntahan naming na ganun lagi ang scenario… di naman cguro galit ang langit nun, haha peace tau Oning… ;) bait yan! (sabay bawe, though pinaaalis n daw ng mga pari s San Carlos, hahaha)…

De ja vu: at sa lagi na ring nakasanayan, usapan 8:00 aalis, 7 pa nga daw e... umm, 8:30 ngsipaggcing ang mga bata (included ako dun,hehe), at exactly 10:30 nakaalis na kami…. Hinatid kami ni Papa, di cya maka2punta ksi sumusuko ang, “joint pain” niya (hssssh,) kaya ang pinuntahan nya nalang ay yung sa South….. tpos kmi naman buti hindi sa Dangwa kami ibinaba, malapit lapit na rin sa North Gate ang binababaan namin. Syempre lakad hanggng dulo

Dami naming nadaanang puntod, may maliit at malalaking space, patunay lamang na kahit dito makikita mo pa rin yung mga taong may kaya, na animo’y mga hari at reyna ang nakatira sa mala-palasyo nilang mosoleyo. May generator pa kamo, san ka pa d b? Nga naman, pati sa huling hantungan ng mga taong ito dala pa rin nila ang pagkakonyo. Pero, siguro kahit sino nanaisin nilang may maayos na paglalagakan ang mga mahal nila sa buhay. Pero tama na siguro yung tama lang…Naala2 ko tuloy yung sinabi ng pinsan naming maliit noon: “Te, bkt dami simbahan dito?”, parang nun lang makarating ng sementeryo noh, actually oo…Meron nga akong laging inaabangan dito e, kala nila kung ano…. Pero Chummie Shawarma lang po iyon, take note Chummie po ah hndi basta bastang shawarma, sa wakas nakita ko ulit yun, ala na kasi sa may Ayala nun e (advertisement lang po).

In my Lola’s grave, we placed her portrait, flower wreaths were offered, and candles were lit as we talk of good times that we shared. Mga biruan, pano ang mgpipinsan nandun. Cguro maliban s Christmas, eto yung okasyon kung san ngkakasama at nagkakakilala ang mga mag-anak… honestly, di ko pa talaga kilala yung iba, kilala ko man sa mukha lang, tpos yung root kung bkt ko sila naging kamag-anak, tatanungin ko tpos malilimutan din..hehehe, shame!  Anyway, isa pang shame, lahat sila iisa comment sa akin, gumaganda daw ako, hahaha joke lang… nagkakalaman na daw ako,…ok fine, tumataba daw ako….. pero compliment na rin, kasi mas ok daw…. Ayan totoo na yan..hehe, bsta hnggang ganyang laman nalang daw…hiyang daw sa trabaho, e pano ba naman laging may kainan s amin, tpos pag may dumadating galing ibang office abroad na mga officemates ko laging may dalang chocolates para sa lahat…can’t resist! We spent 4 hours, and then we asked Father Oning to lead our prayers….. yes and in the mid of our prayers, sobrang pagpapala there comes rain…..After that, s La Loma naman, ngpatila ng ulan, then 2loy s journey….. till makapunta sa Pasay by 7pm (shortcut nay un, ang haba e…hehe)

Nagkuhaan kami ng pictures, umm, nghahanap lng ng katatakutan..hahaha (walang mgawa noh). Sa tuwing nkikita naming yng pic na walang “others”, kuha ulit! Walang katapusan hanggang sa may lumabas…heheheh..ibang trip…. Pero ala talaga e, hanggang sa napunta sa akin ang kwento, kasi sa hilig ko sa mga pics, minsan meron talagang lumalabas, ala akong evidence e nabura ko na kasi sa sobrang takot ko, pero may isa akong pinsan na nakakita nun,,,,, sabi nila may nagbabantay daw sa akin….. naku pu! Sana bantay nga lang tlga siya….. hehe

Pero sana, wag lang yung mga katatakutan yung maging highlight why we celebrate All Soul’s Day… This is a very special day, where we honor the memories of the deceased. Remembering not their death, but the life they gave us when they were still with us. Hence, we should not just remember them during this season, but always……

CS BIG BROTHER II

LAST FRIDAY, we had a back to back Halloween party and a Tribute to one of our colleagues. This is the first event that we had handled and I think, fairly enough, we had a great Buena –mano. Seeing our co-employees with those unstopping grin is more than enough to say that I think, what the POWER committee, had prepared for almost a week gave a two-thumbs-up outcome. Of course, we won’t make it if not with their heartfelt participation. Superb!, I may say….. ^_^. It started at around 3, we had Mike, our Big Brother voice-over, called the rest of the “housemates” to prepare for the party. Mike definitely sounds like the Big Brother himself! We used the speaker phone to call their attention. Chuckles and giggles were all over the office, as they all ramp and left their cubes for the party. Over the weekend, the committee was worried thinking what if they won’t participate in the costume and all that, certainly, we’re wrong. Some wore sando, shorts, with of course a pair of slippers, pajamas, some on their torn shirts and no make-ups, accessories, and gelled-hair, as if everyone’s all in their homes. Umm, maybe the fine of 200 for each violation helped and the prize for the best pampahay look gave it all…hehehe… What we had in store for the “housemates” is definitely big. We held the party in the conference, where we had prepared the tools for the games. We prepared it all at past 12, blew some balloons and scattered it all over the place, then who won’t forget the CS Big Brother logo, ok, I know it’s an egg-shaped logo, my fault, :p...




We prepared the coloring materials and bubbles for the kids. We rehearsed for “Pinoy Ako” steps that we’ve just learned a minute before arranging everything, it’s just a few easy steps anyway, hehe… So, what could possibly be wrong, none I hope…We let the kids in first, asked them to get the coloring materials and encouraged them to work their best as big prizes awaits for the best in coloring activity. Afterwards, we let the not-so-kiddos enter the house, hehe… Of course, any party won’t be complete without the never-ending picture-taking!!! After that boundless shoot, we proceed to the program.


GAME PROPER



We let them pick colors from a box to make a team of four (black, green, orange and blue). We come up with 6 members in each team, wherein 4 different games will be played with representatives each. Without telling them what the games are, we let them choose their representatives in each set of game, two for the Yucky Game, another 2 for the Messy Game, 1 for the Scary and another one for the Esep-Esep. That is to make sure that everyone participated. When they were all decided on what role each person in the team is going to play, we signaled the start of the first game. The scoring will be: 40, 30, 20, 10 in each game.

FIRST GAME (YUCKY)
This was played by two representatives. We already had 2 glass of Sarsi drink in front of them. Of course, we will let them drink it, but it’s not the end of the story yet, we’re not that too kind to let them just drink Sarsi per se. We served 2 fresh eggs in front, they’re going to break it and stir it in no other than with the sarsi drink in front of them. That makes the story…… The first one to finish the drink will get the 40 points. Second is 30, and so on….


SECOND GAME (MESSY)
This was again played with two representatives. A tray of gawgaw was set, where a piece of balloon was buried. And yes they’re going to search for the balloon. But it’s not enough…. The setup would be, 1 would be at the back of the other. The one in front will be the one to blow the tray of gewgaw using his mouth, he will instruct the one at the back where the balloon is and he’s going to get it. All because the person at the back is on blindfold. And once they have searched the balloon, again the person in front will going to blow the balloon, take note he will only blow the balloon, the one at the back will be the one to hold the ballonon…. Easy huh? hehe

THIRD GAME (SCARY)
This was played by one teammate, but the rest will have a part on it. Each team was given three tissue rolls. They have to cover the representative with the tissue rolls from head to foot. That easy, but those mummies will be used in the next game, so we asked them not to remove the rolls.

FOURTH GAME (ESEP-ESEP)
This will be played by one teammate, but the rest will also have a part on it. I and Vaan were the game masters of this set, this is a jologs question and answer portion. Wherein the representative will going to answer, too good but the rest of the team can coach him. He’ll going to write it on the mummified rep done on the third game. Hehehee…

During the game, we had a tie between the black and orange team, for the tie breaker, we let them choose one representative to answer other jologs question and the first one to get the point would be declared as the winner. (no one will coach the rep)

Just to give you an idea what these jologs questions are, the following are some of what we have asked them:
Ano ang susi ng katotohanan sa tv series na Mara Clara?
Sa sitcom na Iskul Bukul, ano ang apelyido nila Tito, Vic at Joey?
Sino ang Yoda s teleseryeng Encantadia?
Anong gag show ang nagpauso ng “chicken!”?
Sa larong bilyard, ano ang tagalong version ng “bridge”?


After the games, we had our hearty merienda! Served our stomach well after the mind-boggling games, hehe… Then we roamed around to get their votes for the Best Pambahay look.



See, their life won’t be that easy and that is courtesy of POWER members…hehehe…

If you only knew the other things we’ve been tackled during our meetings before we can even come up finally with those game rules, believe me, we are still considerate for that matter! Hehe…… That is only the start, there is more and more to come…….. ^_^
