Lost Dream

Umm, I have this interesting dream but unfortunately... I don't know exactly what that is!!! I just know that I am so excited to post it here, and now it's totally blank, absolutely zero! (and how did I know that I am too excited to post it here?? hmmmmm, hndi ko rin matandaan, I just woke up with that in mind, hehehe) Hmm, since we're talking of my lost dream and have nothing interesting things to share here, might as well dig in to the topic...

According to Mr. Webster, Dreams are "sequence of sensations, images, thoughts, etc., passing through a sleeping person's mind and has been a topic of study dating back to 4000 B.C.". Now, here are some interesting tidbits on dreams: I found it in the site of
Dream Moods

1. One third of our lives are spent sleeping.
-- This goes to people who have their regular sleep. If you are one of those who just mark off their college life and now starting up a new life in the office, you got to have a fraction of this.

2. In your lifetime, you would've spent about 6 years of it dreaming. That is more than 2,100 days spent in a different world.
-- Yeah, and would sometimes bring you to weird places, one moment you're in your house then out of the blue you'll be in somewhere else. Hehe.. Oh and sometimes weird feelings as deja vu (when awake). Minsan sasabihin mo, "Napanaginipan ko na ito ah", as if you've been to that place before or events like this happened before, like in your dreams or maybe in you past. Whoa!

3. Dreams have been here as long as mankind. Back in the Roman Era, striking and significant dreams were submitted to the Senate for analysis and interpretation.
-- Even in the bible, Joseph the Dreamer (if I'm not mistaken) was recommended to interpret their pharaoh’s perplexing dreams, back then, even before his appearance they would have searched an extensive collection of dream analysis texts…See..

4. Everybody dreams. EVERYBODY! Simply because you do not remember your dream does not mean that you did not dream.
-- That is what I'm saying! Completely lost...

5. Dreams are indispensable. A lack of dream activity can mean protein deficiency or a personality disorder.
-- Would that mean I'm healthy inside and out?? Hehe

6. We dream on average of one or two hours every night. And we often even have 4-7 dreams in one night.
-- As if different programs in TV. Hehe

7. Blind people do dream. Whether visual images will appear in their dream depends on whether they where blind at birth or became blind later in life. But vision is not the only sense that constitutes a dream. Sounds, tactility, and smell become hypersensitive for the blind and their dreams are based on these senses.
-- Aha…hehe

8. Five minutes after the end of the dream, half the content is forgotten. After ten minutes, 90% is lost.
-- I know now.

9. The word dream stems from the Middle English word, dreme which means "joy" and "music".
-- Aha…hehe

10. Men tend to dream more about other men, while women dream equally about men and women.
-- Aha…hehe

11. Studies have shown that our brain waves are more active when we are dreaming than when we are awake.
-- So if you have homeworks in programming, just leave it in your dream, who knows you might dream the answers, right? Hehe, don’t take my advice, haven’t proven yet.

12. Dreamers who are awakened right after REM sleep are able to recall their dreams more vividly than those who slept through the night until morning.
-- Aha…hehe..Umm, e ano ba ang REM sleep??? The discovery of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, a mentally active period during which dreaming occurs, provided a biological explanation for this phenomenon. It also inspired interest in sleep research by giving scientists a marker for changes in the brain during sleep. Just contact your sys admin, your neurologist rather..hehe

13. Physiologically speaking, researchers found that during dreaming REM sleep, males experience erections and females experience increased vaginal blood flow - no matter what the content of the dream. In fact, "wet dreams" may not necessarily coincide with overtly sexual dream content.
-- Aha…Hehe

14. People who are giving up smoking have longer and more intense dreams.
-- But I don’t smoke, a big NO NO.

15. Toddlers do not dream about themselves. They do not appear in their own dreams until the age of 3 or 4.
-- Can’t remember anything I dreamt during those years, how can I, can’t consider even the very dream I had just last night.

16. If you are snoring, then you cannot be dreaming.
-- I therefore conclude that I don’t snore at all…hahahaha

17. Nightmares are common in children, typically beginning at around age 3 and occurring up to age 7-8.
-- I had one, good news I’m still young! I’m only 20. hehe

Dream a lot, dream big, dream far and wide! ^_^
