The "Fare" & Unjust Man

This morning, I got up from bed late (nanaman!!! Hehe). Should be hurry for it will turned 8 in a while. Had my morning routine, and even afford to watch TV. Mom called, told me MCS will be featured in Unang Hirit. And there, it was held in MCS Gymnasium with a guest band True Faith. Tell you something about this band, they are actually Malateans. Their band was named after MCS’ motto, “True To My Faith”. Actually, Jay, Bimbo, Jake, Jun and Medwin are just one of the school’s pride, there came prominent singers and actors like Kuh Ledesma and Aiza Marquez...You might be thinking, this school might not be “school” after all, of course not! Not only are Malateans known for entertainment but in education as well. They have produced top alumni from different universities and colleges, that they can be proud of…. Am I missing something? hahahahaha

Moving along, after all these morning graces, kissed my Mom, Lolo and our dog goodbye and off I go to the office. As I was walking I got a glimpse of this “fare man” I used to call. I was planning to change my way, thought he did not see me, but he threw a smile, he even said “uy late ka na ah!” (weh, cya rin kaya late na, wahehe) of course this friendly me went along with him, I could’ve been so bad if not. The reason why I was planning to go off his way is because, this will be the fourth time (I’m sure!) he’ll gonna pay my fare and second I was already planning to go for a cub kasi nga late na, init pa! (hehe, arte!) Of course, who doesn’t want to be paid in his fare? Pero, kahiya na noh..hehehe.. I just said: “Uy ako naman ngayon”, but he insisted, ala n ko magawa…hehe prang plastic pro true yun noh bleh :p. Ayun, forgot his name (tsk tsk), he is also a Mapuan, used to see him in school when we were still in Intramuros (same with him). We parted ways, when he finally left and rode a bus.

Then, I rode a jeepney again. I was seated near the “estribo”. When we were in the… I don’t where that is, hehe, there were these four guys who get in, one seated beside me, the other one in front of me, the other two men seated separately. To sum up, these four seated apart. I don’t know what exactly the feeling is but I got nervous and held my things tight. I was staring at the man in front of me, as he was too. They were glancing at each other as if devilish eyes were talking momentarily. I just ignored it, but got a hunch, these four men won’t definitely do any good. As I told myself the moment this jeepney stopped I’ll go down no matter where that place is. Could be, I’m just being paranoid, but it would be better to leave than risk everything, right? The man in front paid his fare, his coins fell just the same thing happened with the guy beside me, I was staring at him as he gets his money from his pocket. The lady (w/ white shirt and loose red shorts) seated beside the man in front of me helped in picking up the coins, as for me, I did not dare, not a single move. The other guy beside the lady held his hand underneath his backpack (on his lap), I don’t know what that move means but I suspected that was a Swiss knife underneath or what ready to smash passengers off, whatever it is, I got off the jeepney. I don’t know what happened next, it left me with trembling knees as I wait for another jeepney. Just hope people there were okay. A few minutes have passed in waiting, when this troubled lady came asking, I don’t know what exactly her words are for she was a few meters away from me, from her gesture I can say someone took her cellphone or something. I knew her, she was the lady w/ white shirt and loose red shorts riding in the jeepney before. I felt some guilt…. If I only knew, I should have warned her, but if so, they might have killed me(positive, these 4 men could do such thing). I really felt bad, can’t do anything…It started with a hunch, then, reality came…Maybe the moment the lady have picked up the coins that fell from these guys, the other man beside her took the cellphone in her pocket and held it underneath his backpack, or worst is, it was a Swiss knife the man was holding and these four tried to force the lady and other passengers to give their things…..Enough of this nonsense… Just felt a little happy because I arrived safe and sound, felt some guilt also….. This is I think the least thing that I could do, to warn you guys of this so-called “Laglag barya Gang”, not only this but to all possible dangers. Admit it, our world is not safe, but we can make preventions, avoidance is the rule …. If we can’t stop them, at least do our part to prevent them from doing such things, be cautious on what we wear and bring…. After such incident, we can’t blame anyone, if so, nothing will happen….
